How Could I resist?

Oh Nolan, you have outsmarted me with your cuteness yet again!  Here's how it went down…

Me:  Nolan we are going to run to Target REALLY quick, I just need a few things.
Nolan:  Can we look at the boy toys?
Me:  Sure
Nolan:  Can I get a toy?
Me: You need to be really good and listen to Mom and then we'll see.
Nolan:  Okay I'll be good, I won't say…"Can I have two toys?"

I mean it would be totally RIDICULOUS to get two toys, one toy is absolutely appropriate though right?

At one point he did in fact ask for that second toy and I said "Nolan, I thought you weren't going to ask for a second toy?".  His response "Oh yea yea, I meant I want that one for my birthday."  This dude has it all figured out!

I can't lie, it was a very pleasant Target trip and he MIGHT have gone home with some new Legos.  You don't have to tell me, I know I'm a sucker.

He was so excited he also decided he did not need a nap today, he was "too excited to sleep"…you would think we were going to Disney Land or something.

Captain America and Aqua Man

Here is our little Captain America (get it, wink wink) on his first 4th of July…

On another note Nolan, aka Aqua Man, decided on this fine Independence Day that he wanted to really take the plunge and test out his swimming skills.  Not too shabby if you ask me…

And this my friends is what you get when you let your 3 year old swim for hours on end.  Snuggled up tight in bed 10 minutes after our return home.  Something tells me the fireworks are not waking this kid up tonight.  Happy 4th of July!

I was early...he was hungry

This morning I had to take the boys to their respective locations for the day, a job that is usually in Chad's hands.  I'm not used to this adventure so when I do have to take them I never time it that great.  I'm either running around screaming at Nolan because we are running late, or I'm up screwing around on Facebook because I'm too early.  Well this morning I was WAY too early so I decided to take full advantage and have a date with my favorite 3 year old.  We dropped B of at the sitter and headed on over to Bread Company (conveniently located just across the street from the sitter) for a little breakfast feast.  I don't get to spend much one on one time with Nolan anymore, and I really miss it so this morning I got a small dose to hold me over for a little bit.  We had a very intellectual conversation about whether of not cows and pigs have teeth, which led into cows jumping over the moon, which led into a conversation about astronauts and aliens on other planets, which led into how he wanted to be an astronaut when he grows up, which led into deciding that no he wanted to be a firefighter instead and so on and so on.  I swear his mind never stops.  The whole conversation evolved from a picture on a milk carton...

Yes this was only about a 20 minute excursion, but I guarantee it's the best 20 minutes of my week.

ps...No, I don't take my camera everywhere for those of you that are wondering about my sanity right about now.  These actually came from my phone, kind of impressive right?  Starting to rethink that huge camera I continue to lug around.

Beautiful Beautiful…Dirt

I don't think I have ever been so excited about a pile of dirt in my life, wait I KNOW I have never been so excited about a pile of dirt in my life.  This big pile of dirt is going to be our new home in approximately 4-5 months.  Woohoooooo!  Now Chad just asks that everyone keep their fingers crossed that move in day does not disturb deer season!
