Tardy for the Party

Sooo, this post may or may not be about a month overdue.  Lets remember all you haters out there, uh hum Stephanie, I'm busy taking care of my precious children, advancing my career, cleaning my house and cooking deliciously healthy meals day in and day out.  Or maybe at least one of those things anyway (or maybe not any of those actually).  So this blog becomes a little outdated at times.  I never said it would be timely, and if I did you should all know I'm not on time…EVER.  Example…I took Nolan to a new school today, had an appointment at 7:00am to fill out the paperwork…got there promptly at 7:35.  I hope my Dad isn't reading this, he swears by making a good first impression.  Not my best showing.  Something tells me they will take my money anyway though so it's all good.  My parenting skills are stellar today let me tell ya.  My second child is currently sleeping in my closet because of the tornado warnings.  Yep, I just admitted it...I'm crazy.  His pack n play fits ever so nicely in our closet, don't fret I left the door open for air passage.  He thinks he's on Holiday it's so cozy in there.  I intend to break him free of his jail shelter once the warnings are removed, so put the phone down the division of family services has bigger fish to fry.  I'm rambling…that means I'm tired.  So I'm just going to share these pictures of Baby Jude because he's cute and I owe it to him to show the world.  I hope his parents are keeping him safe in a closet right now too, he deserves nothing but the best.

Side note, I think I'm turning my friends crazy too.  When I went to visit Jude the first thing Amanda said to me when I walked in was "there's good lighting in here, you're going to love it".  I mean she wasn't wrong, but is it sad that my friends are now scoping out good lighting for me?  I've made them crazy too, but quite honestly that's crazy awesome for me and also for your viewing pleasure.

I'm saving this one for last because I think it's my favorite.  Is he or is he not telling me to cool it with the camera.  Ahhh, Jude…nice try.  Your Mom already asked for more pictures…bawhawahawahahwa

Practice…Practice…Practice

They say if you are going to be good at something you have to practice, practice, practice.  Well, I am not one to go against the rules of life so when we had the opportunity to spend the day out at a winery a few weeks back we jumped at the chance.  I mean we needed to practice for our upcoming adventure in wine country right?  (a little foreshadowing there for future blog posts #fancy).  We had some friends in from out of town that we had not seen in WAY TOO LONG so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to have some adult fun.  And boy were we right.  We had a beautiful day, wine was flowing like water and we had a sober driver (thanks Amanda).

Ahhh, speaking of that sober driver here she is!  You didn't think she was just nice did you?  She was only in charge because she had to be.  She was VERY pregnant on this day, but don't fret she is not pregnant any longer (more foreshadowing…oh the suspense).

This is Nick and Dana, they were our guests of honor.  They live in Oklahoma now, and after dealing with our shenanigans for the day they might think that is an excellent decision on their part!

 At this point in the day is where it got a little awkward…okay a lot awkward.  Please note dude man who came over and was rather handsy with Amanda's pregnant belly.  Talking about how beautiful pregnant woman are blah blah blah.  All we were thinking is CREEPY.  We were also thinking, oh god this is going to be Curtis in 15 years.  Hell, it might be Curtis right now.  At least Kim was coming to Amanda's rescue…not.  I mean I couldn't I was busy documenting the assault.

I mean for goodness sakes Curtis and creepster are wearing the same sunglasses!  Coincidence? I think not.

Nahh, Curtis is nothing like this guy.  He's totally normal right? Front tuck and all.

Happy Campers

A few posts ago I talked about our new addition…the swing set.  In that post the swing set was in shambles, but it is now put together and in working order.  I think it's a hit, but I'll let you decide for yourselves…

 I think we have two happy campers, yes?  Sweet success. 

Whitney

Right before we left for our little vacation I had the pleasure of taking some newborn pictures for Miss Whitney.  Whitney is the daughter of one of my oldest friends.  Erin, Whitney's mom, lived in the house behind me when I was younger, well older too I guess.  Her family was like my family.  Erin, Sara (her older sister) and I were inseparable growing up.  Friday night we would spend the night at my house, and Saturday we would spend the night at theirs.  Though they put me in the middle of their sister struggles from time to time…we were the best of friends.  Except for maybe that time Sara and I made a "seatbelt" for Erin on the swing-set and left her dangling struggling for her life.  That is a sight I'll never forget, along with the sight of our dads hurdling the fences to come to her rescue.  Our heroes.  By the way, I'm sorry about that Erin…it was Sara's idea OBVIOUSLY.  I'm guessing she has forgiven me though as she granted me the privilege of shooting Whitney's pictures, and even brought along big brother Luke to join in a few as well.  Here's hoping he never tries to tie her up in the swing-set :)

 

Erin's mom is UBER-TALENTED.  Everything in these pictures that was knitted, was knitted with love by Donna.  Even this blanket below that has her name in it.  I mean seriously.  Etsy is calling your name Donna, you could make millions!  

So I told you Donna is super talented.  Well she made this super cute pod/cocoon thing for Whitney, but we just couldn't quite make it happen!  I THINK she was just a little too big for it, we couldn't get her little piggies to stay tucked, and she looks none too thrilled about this little idea either.  BUT I wanted to show Donna that it wasn't for a lack of our trying!  Scrunched or not she's still pretty darn cute!

Yuck!

We were on vacation…now we are not.  YUCK!
