4th of July

This year we headed to the lake for the 4th of July.  We had an awesome weekend full of swimming, boat riding and hanging out with friends.  The weekend started slooooooow because it had rained so incredibly much this summer the lake was super high and they declared "No wake at the lake".  It didn't stop this crew though!  We still very slowly crept out on the water and found a nice little cove to swim in.  By Saturday morning they had lifted the no wake ordinance and we were good to go for the rest of the weekend.  We had perfect weather (not normal for us at the lake) and even got to take in some fireworks on our boat ride home from dinner on the 4th.  It doesn't get much better folks.

Lions and Tigers and Peacocks Oh My!

Alright, perhaps we didn't see lions or tigers but I'm pretty sure we did in fact see a peacock (maybe). Quinn was turning two and decided to celebrate at Big Joel's Safari, or at least her mom decided to celebrate at Big Joel's Safari and I'm sure glad she did.  I had never been here before and had been wanting to check it out and this gave me the perfect excuse.  It's a fun little place with a bunch of random animals to feed/pet/get slobbered on by...you know pure bliss for the kiddos.  It was a gorgeous day and the kids (and Matt) had a blast.  Thanks for turning 2 Quinn, can't wait to see what next year's adventure brings us!

Big Joel's Safari was really inspiring me on this particular afternoon, so I decided to take a few pictures of the animals as well.  You know for my next new business adventure where I sell random pictures of goofy looking animals with creepy smirks on their faces.  I'll let you know when it goes up for sale, because I KNOW you're all wondering :)

The Longest Baseball Season Ever

Nolan's baseball season this year went ON and ON and ON and ON.  We had more than our fair share of rain and that meant a lot of rain outs.  We eventually got most of our games in though, and the boys continued to improve with each game so that was pretty exciting to watch.  Baseball is definitely Nolan's sport of choice right now.  He enjoys watching it, playing it and dazzling me with random baseball facts that he learns along the way.  I will say one thing, he definitely looks the part of a baseball player!  So if looks count for anything he should be well on his way to the MLB here shortly.

The Sewell/Sturm/Barbagallo Family

The time had come.  It was time for a big family picture for the Sewell family and for some reason they trusted me to take the pictures!  They went all out and dressed like they were headed out for a weekend in the Hamptons and walked into this photo shoot like they were models reporting for their next gig.  They were generous with their smiles and laughter and the kids were absolute angels.  When you are around this family you can't help but feel the love they have for one another.  They are so supportive of each other and simply enjoy being together.  No better way to spend a saturday morning in my eyes, surrounded by wonderful people and doing something I love.  Thanks for spending your morning with me Sewell/Sturm/Barbagallo family, I hope you guys enjoy the pictures!
