Operation Teepee

Do you ever buy stuff for your kids and think "man that would make a great photo prop"?  Or maybe you buy something BECAUSE you think it will make a great photo prop and it just happens to be something your kids might enjoy too.  No, just me?  Do you also wait until your husband is out of town before you go attempt taking pictures with said photo prop as to not get made fun of?  No, just me again?

So I'm totally guilty of all of the above.  Ever since Bennett got this adorable teepee I have been dying to take his picture with it.  One random night on the way home from work I decided it was go time.  So I ran home grabbed kids, clothes and props and raced off to the park.  Operation teepee was underway and there was no turning back.  At one point I even joined in the fun (photo credit: Nolan).  Here were the results...

(side note: Nolan had a VERY loose tooth on this particular evening that he really enjoyed showing off)

The Baldwin Family

This past weekend turned out to be rather hot.  This came as a surprise to some of my clients who had planned outfits for a more chilly occasion.  I can feel their pain, as we did the same thing a few weeks ago for our family pictures.  Scarves and boots when the weather would suggest shorts and a t-shirt.  Regardless of how uncomfortable they were though they still came through with the smiles.  This is the Baldwin family, we did a mini session for them to document little Carter's 3 months on this earth and also in hopes of scoring a family picture for their Christmas card.  I think we were able to accomplish both! We had to improvise a little because it seems Mr. Carter is most happy when he is in Mom or Dad's arms, smart boy that lad.  Already has these two wrapped around his little finger, and rightly so!  Here is a sneak peak...

The Lord Family

Oh the Lord family, how I love to photograph them.  Jessie is known for going over the top and as a photographer I have to say I love it.  This year there were bow ties and ruffles and pearls.  All for kids under 3!  Now that's what I'm talking about!  Connor always performs for my camera, well he performs for life in general.  Hands down the smiliest kid I have ever encountered.  Now Quinn...she's a tough nut to crack.  She must hang out with my boys ;)  Quinn is kind of known for her pouty lip though and don't worry I was sure to document that.  Here is a sneak peak at our afternoon together...

Manthey Family

The last time I photographed this family they were a family of four, this time all of the sudden they are a family of 5!  Okay so maybe it wasn't just "all of the sudden" but it was the first time I got to meet Mr. Hudson and he is ADORABLE.  He was so so so cute and turned on his charm from the get go.  I always get a little nervous when there are babies his age involved, it can go one of two ways...good or...not good.  Lucky for me he was ready for his close-up along with the rest of his awesome family so we were able to get plenty of great shots of everyone.  Thanks to the Manthey family for braving the chilly evening with me, here is your sneak peak...
