Lake Shenanigans

Oh the annual Friends Lake Trip.  Have to prep the liver all year for this one.  It was full of the typical shenanigans, lots of fishing, boating, swimming and dancing.  This is basically just a photo dump in no particular order because I didn't really take many pictures so I stole most of these from our shared album.  But there are some goodies in here that I didn't want to forget.  For example: back farts from drunk Curtis and Mike, lily pad wars between the boys and girls (pretty sure the girls won), the TERRIBLE Superman puzzle that was almost the death of this crew for more reasons than one, but most importantly the fun the kids had while tubing/swimming/fishing together.  These kids don't see each other as often as they once did but gosh they still have so much fun we we manage to get together...and the parents are alright too!  Here's to yet another successful trip, can't wait until next year!

Bye Bye Binkie...Hello Water Table

Little Miss was pretty attached to her binkie.  I mean, we did get her down to just having it at bedtime but let's be real who wants to take away the magical thing that makes your kid like to go to bed?  Not this girl that's for sure.  Buttttt I promised the Dr I would take it away by the time she was 2.5 and guess what?  I lied.  But it was time.  Enter...good old fashioned bribery.  Give up binkie, get a large plastic toy.  Everyone wins!!  Honestly it was that simple.  She whined one night, we told her it was gone and that was that.  So here she is reaping the benefits of her new found independence, and her new status as "Big Girl". She obviously ended the night as a princess because well...she's a princess.

Avengers Win!!

Lord knows Bennett has spent his fair share of time at the baseball fields for all of Nolan's games so it's super exciting to finally see Bennett on the field more often.  His team is starting to get pretty competitive so they have started playing a few more tournaments, and so it begins!!  This particular tournament they had some really great competition but these Avengers are fighters and they got first place.  And not to toot my own horn but MY kid hit the game winning hit to end the championship game!!  So maybe I am tooting my horn, but I don't even care!  These boys are fun to watch and I can only imagine they will get even more fun as they enter kid pitching this fall season.  Go Avengers!

4th of July!!

We had a surprisingly clear calendar for the 4th of July weekend so we decided we should spend it at the lake.  Usually I try to avoid the lake for holiday weekends because I'm a scrooge and hate the busyness, but I'm glad we braved the insanity because to be honest it didn't seem all that bad this year.  I mean, we didn't go to a single restaurant or bar so that probably helped but the lake was fairly calm in general so we got quite a bit of time on the boat and in the water after all.  Which makes for happy children and happy Chad.  The kids again got in their fishing time and tubing and the parents got in their fair share of drinks and cards.  The lake has been good to us this year, and we have one more trip left to go!!  Turns out pandemics are good for one thing and that's clearing a calendar!
