Welcome Baby Sofia

Meet Baby Sofia, you will see she is absolutely precious and that the whole family (inclusive of Big Sister) are tottally smitten with her already.  She wasn't exactly interested in doing much sleeping on this particular day, but we managed to get a few sleeping beauty pictures and also managed to get a glimpse of her wide-eyed and ready to go.  I'd call that a success.  Sofia's Mom might look a little familiar to this blog, but this is actually her first appearance.  One of Sofia's cousins, Ava, was born a few months ago and I did her newborn pictures as well.  Ava's Mom is Sofia's Mom's twin...did you follow that?  Sofia is one lucky girl, she is joining a whole crew of cousins actually and they are ALL girls!  I cannot wait to hear the stories that come about in their teenage years!

Welcome to the world Ms. Sofia, I hope you enjoy the sneak peak...

And in honor of Halloween we decided she needed to do a little dress up action as well.  Cutest owl I ever have seen!

The Hoffman Family

Second family of this particular day and I got another "spirited" little one.  Big Sister was ready to go, but Little Sis needed some encouragement.  And by "encouragement" I mean straight up "bribery", but encouragement sounds so much nicer doesn't it?  Anyway, again in the end I won and Charlotte shared some smiles with us.  It might have meant chasing her around with a camera while she ran but you gotta do what you gotta do!  We kind of gave up on the "look at the camera and smile" style and went with the "whatever happens happens style", which happens to be my favorite style actually!

The Meyer Family

It's that time of year...Family Picture Time!  This is the Meyer family, I've done their pictures a few times now and Little Miss Maeryn always comes with her A-Game.  She steps out of the car and is ready for her close up!  Now little brother, he's another story.  He isn't too sure about the whole situation and likes to stand back and watch his sister take the spotlight.  He warmed up though and we caught him off guard for a few genuine smiles.  I always win Johnny, I always win.

First Day of School

I set out on a mission last year to start a "tradition" for Nolan's first day of school pictures every year. The goal is to take his picture with an old school desk each year.  Honestly I think I'm doing it just to see what he'll look like as a Senior squeezing into that chair!  Anyway, we ran to the park the night before school (yes I cheated) and this time I grabbed our neighbors to join in the "fun", hoping this would make it less painful for Nolan!  Worked like a charm!

A few fun facts about Nolan this year...

1.  Favorite Sport: Baseball Baseball Baseball
2.  Best Friend:  Carter
3.  Favorite Food: Nachos from the "white cheese" restaurant
4.  Favorite Color:  Orange
5.  Favorite Show:  watching sports (especially the ones on past bedtime)
6.  Things he loves:  Swimming, Baseball Cards, Pokemon Cards, his Mom :)
7.  Special Talent:  Burping on command (and loud, really really loud)

And now we shall add in those neighbor boys.  This is about when I lost control of the session.  Except for "Big Nolan" (yes our neighbor's name is Nolan too), "Big Nolan" really likes the camera and will do whatever you ask him to and even comes up with "ideas" on his own.  I like that kid.

And then I made the mistake of saying "when you're a Senior you'll be able to pick that desk up and hold it over your head".  I'm guessing you know what happened next...they all tried...And all failed.
