The Blassie Family

The Blassie family had a few things to celebrate this summer.  They had a special little girl turning ONE and a special little boy who was born the month before.  Nope, that wasn't a typo.  Two kids...11 months apart.  They have their work cut out for them.  But you know what, I have all faith that these two will keep it all under control.  Did I mention they are also building a house right now?  Go big or go home.  Oh wait, they can't go home.  Go big or go to your Mom's?   Sorry Rachael, I had to!  I mean let's be honest, if I had two kids under 1 there is nowhere I would rather be than my Mom's house either!  These two crazy kids have a lot to be thankful for as you can tell.  Thanks for letting me capture the first pictures of your new family of four.  Can't wait to watch these kiddos grow!

The Princess and the Boy with no Pants

Just a regular old Sunday around here.  Definitely calls for a Princess Dress but certainly doesn't call for any pants!  I'm going to have plenty of ammo for their teenage years!

Becks Family

Another little miracle made his debut recently.  Mr. Colin has the important job of giving one happy couple a new title...parents.  To me it is so exciting to see new parents.  It's fun to see any new baby and their family don't get me wrong, but there is something about first time parents that just makes it that much more exciting.  And these two were no exception.  You could tell they were already smitten with this little guy and rightly so.  Colin is absolutely adorable and he was a perfect little angel for his first photo shoot.  Welcome to the world Colin, I can't wait to see what your future holds.

New Beginnings

I'm going to do this post ahead of some others that I've been slacking on because this one is extra special.  Today marked a big day at our house, our oldest started Kindergarten.  Many people asked me if I was prepared for this moment.  Why were they asking about me, Nolan was the one embarking on a new journey not me.  I genuinely shrugged the question off because as I saw it going to Kindergarten was really no different than his schedule right now.  Right now he goes to "school" 5 days a week all day.  So what's the difference really?  Well, I stomped in that school today feeling all tough and mighty and as I stood at his tiny little desk looking at his little cubbie with his name on it I couldn't help but get a little choked up.  Now don't get all excited, there were no alligator tears and there was no scene, but it hit me deep down inside that my little baby was no longer that.  He was a big Kindergartener now, a big Kindergartener in a big school with big responsibilities.  He has to learn how to navigate this school by himself.  I can't walk him through all the steps and I can't be there to make sure he succeeds.  I realize there are teachers there to do that, but this morning it sure felt like I was leaving him on an island to fend for himself.  But you know what?  He did it, and he did it well.  He was a little timid walking into the classroom but once he crossed over that threshold he was back to his big bad self and already too cool for school (literally).  It would have been SOOOO uncool to hug and kiss his Mom and Dad (but don't you worry, I stole a slight pat on the back before I left).  He rocked his first day and he is pretty pumped to go back tomorrow.  So here's hoping he stays this excited for the next 12 years!!  If only everyday could be as exciting as the first day of Kindergarten!

The Newport Family

I've said it before, but I'll say it again.  One of my favorite parts of doing photography is getting back in touch with old friends.  On this particular day I had the pleasure of shooting one of my sorority sister's families inclusive of their newest little addition, Harrison.  Harrison has one proud Big Sister, Elle, who has the sweetest demeanor and I can tell she is going to be very protective of the newest family member.  Elle is also taking after her fashionista Mom and wears the biggest frilliest dresses and bows and looks ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE.  To top it off they had a Goldendoodle (just like our Cooper) that was so good and cooperative (not like our Cooper).  In a nutshell the Newport family was the picture perfect little family and here are the images to prove it.  Thanks Jackie for letting me take your family pictures, hope you enjoy!
