Jude Turns One

We have had a lot of special birthdays around here lately it seems. Mr.Jude turned the Big O-N-E.  He celebrated with a spectacular zoo party at the park that was complete with a BEAUTIFUL day. Although if you ask his Mom she might tell you it was a bit too windy for her liking. You see, like many of us Moms, she spent an obscene amount of time preparing for this birthday party.  Only to get to the party and find out many of her decorations weren't going to make the cut because Mother Nature kept blowing them down!  If you ask me though, the party was perfection complete with a very happy (sugared up) birthday boy!  Happy Birthday Jude, you little party animal (get it?)!

Spring has Sprung

It's finally happened, I do believe Spring has sprung!  And I'm not sure about anyone else but that makes me VERY happy.  That means we can spend the majority of our evenings outside with some fresh air..marvelous, just marvelous.  So here is some evidence of our outside shenanigans.
At one point I looked over and Nolan was coming at me like this...
I asked him what he was doing and he said he was a zombie (apparently he has walked in on one too many episodes of Chad's "Walking Dead" viewings).  He then promptly walked over to teach his brother his zombie ways, he'll get it eventually.
Bennett might not make the best zombie, but he makes a mean "Ninja Turtle".  I mean check out his form...

Logan's 2nd Birthday

Mr. Logan had a big birthday, he turned TWO!  His Mom put together a spectacular Sesame Street themed party for him, which was a big hit for everyone.  As was the beautiful day she ordered from Mother Nature :)  Oh the things we do for our kiddos!  Logan was very serious about his birthday, as you will see in the pictures below.  That or he just didn't want me stealing his cupcake!  Happy Birthday Logan, thanks for sharing your special day with us!

Hand Me Downs

Being the mother of boys I don't have much to pass down in the way of toys or clothes.  The boys don't really appreciate my collection of Cabbage Patch Kids and they certainly don't see value in my Barbies.  There is one toy that my Mom saved however that is a big hit around here.  It's one of those toys that my Mom probably waaaaaaaay overpaid for at one of those in home "Discovery Toys" parties back in the day, but I can't lie it was one of my favorite things growing up and now the boys love it too.    It's called MarbleWorks.  Basically you just put a bunch of pieces together to make a maze for the marbles to go through.  Simple…Fun…Genius.  Might I add a perfect rainy day activity, which is what we had here.  For the most part Nolan does the building and Bennett does the marble dropping/jumping up and down watching the magic happen…perfect combo for these two.  (Note: Shirts are still optional in Nolan's mind…even when it's freezing)

Katie - Senior

Meet Katie.  She is a Senior this year and almost ready to embark on the next exciting journey in her life.  But FIRST…there were pictures that needed to be taken.  Senior pictures is one of those fun events that I fear I'll miss out on as a mother of boys.  I realize boys get their Senior pictures taken too, but they throw on a polo and call it a day.  They MIGHT throw you a bone and let you go somewhere besides a studio but that is REALLY pushing it. Not girls.  They go shopping for weeks to have just the right outfit, jewelry and shoes to match.  Katie was no exception.  She was accessorized to the max and ready for her close up!  Here is a sneak peak...

Change of Plans

A couple of weeks ago we had decided we were going to take the boys to the St. Patrick's Day Parade. It was going to be a gorgeous day and we thought the boys (and ourselves) would have a good time.  Chad woke up early and did the race (I couldn't do it because I had to stay home with the boys, wink wink).  So when the boys woke up I said "Who wants to go to the parade today?" (in my most enthusiastic cheerleader like voice ever).  Nolan responded with "not me, all you do is stand there at the parade".  Touche Nolan, touche.  So we ditched the parade plans (but not our green beads) and decided to burn some energy at the park instead.  That Nolan is wise, he was totally right, wearing them (and their Dad) out at the park was a WAY better idea after all.
