The Year of the Family Photos

This year BOTH Grandmas wanted family photos, and who I am to say no to the Grandmas?  So we did family pictures, not once...but twice.  Luckily they were very close in timing so we just wore the same thing for both.  That's a win, can I get an Amen?  I mean who wants to plan family photo outfits one time let alone two times?  Not this mom, I can guarantee you that!  So here are ALL our family pictures with ALL the people we love the most.  And can we note my kids were actually good (for the most part) and cooperated?  Except that little princess, we are still working on her CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE.  For now, we will settle for looking in the direction of the camera.  But this grace period ends soon little one, next year smiles are expected :).

Halloween

We finally made it to Halloween, I told you there would be a lot of Gum ball before the main event!  We had a great night of trick or treating in the neighborhood and spending some time with the neighbors.  Bennett even broke out the Joke book this year, but then refused to tell the jokes at the doors.  Shocking.  Oh well, we got a kick out of his research anyway.

Pumpkin Patch

It seems like Fall is the busiest time of year around here.  It's all fun stuff, but at the end of the day it's stuff.  Trying to get everything in is exhausting but you better bet we squeezed the Pumpkin Patch in at the VERY LAST SECOND.  While the boys could probably do without a Pumpkin Patch visit, little sister still deserves a few years of corn box fun.  So off we went for an afternoon of family fun.  We tend to gravitate to the same Pumpkin Patch every year, not sure if that is because we think it's amazing or if we are too lazy to find another one but nonetheless we embraced the Daniels Pumpkin Patch again this year so I suppose we can call it a tradition now.

Saint Parade

Every year the Second Graders do a Saints Parade at school.  They get to pick their "favorite" Saint, dress up like them and then they have a parade at school to show off their costumes.  They also have to do a report and make a poster, but that's not the fun stuff they remember so we will just concentrate on the fun part here.  Bennett picked Saint Patrick, patron Saint of Ireland.  Why you ask?  Great question, that not even Bennett can answer.  Maybe it's the cool green outfit?  The crown?  Maybe he just likes the name.  Nonetheless, he made a marvelous Saint Patrick.  Unfortunately though he would only wear the beard at home, he ditched it for the actual parade.  I even tried to convince him to wear it by saying he wouldn't have to smile for pictures because no one would be able to tell anyway, still a no go.  Maybe Saint Patrick is really the patron saint of stubbornness and in that case it was the PERFECT choice.
