Let me give you some background: The birthday victim: my dear friend Kim. Kim's husband is how do I say this...if we were still in high school he would be voted the class clown actually I think he was voted class clown. Curtis is the life of any party, and his presence is always known and most of the time appreciated. He may be a total goof ball (even his boss thinks so) but he has a severe soft spot when it comes to his lovely wife. So I knew when he started talking about her birthday plans they would be nothing but fabulous. And if you are wondering, yes Curtis came up with this idea all by himself and we couldn't be more proud. Way to go Curtis!
Now that you are all intrigued, let me share with you our evening. Curtis put together a private cooking class at a small wine bar in O'Fallon (Rendezvous). In the class we helped to make cheese fondue, cornish hen and some sort of fabulous berry dessert (sorry I know it had a fancy name but I have no clue what it was). All the while sipping on some fabulous wines (or water). Fun right? I'm not sure we were the best students the chef had ever had, but we threw in a few questions with references to Top Chef every so often so I'm sure she was totally impressed!
Here are some pics of the evening, Bon appetit!
The Lovely Birthday Girl Kim
The Ladies
Doesn't she look like a natural? Almost like she has her own cooking show;) As for my husband I can't even describe to you in words what he was doing with those rolling pins...nothing appropriate that's for sure!
You guessed it...the making of the hen (not gonna lie made me want to vomit a little that night looking at it, and a little right now too!).
After the wine bar we did go back to Curtis and Kim's house for an "after party" where Curtis' true self came out, and if you're lucky I'll figure out how to get those videos off my phone in the near future as well!
Thanks Curtis for planning a fun night, and thank you Kim for getting old!
