Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Although I am not a huge fan of all the snow this winter, there is one little man in my house that thought it was pretty awesome.  We decided to venture out one day to do a little sledding, we went to the one HUGE hill in our subdivision (and by huge I mean slightly taller than Chad).  Here are a few pics...

Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, watch out Jamaica it's....sledding time?  (if you  have no idea what I just wrote please go rent Cool Runnings and get back to me)

A few action shots...

And the rest of the family....

Breckenridge or Bust!

You may have started to think that I'm one heck of a slacker when it comes to this blog, well you might be right...but this time I had a little bit of an excuse.  We took a trip to Breckenridge, where the beer flows like wine (or wait is that Aspen?).  Anyway, I have a fews pics to share from the vacation.  Obviously I was not able to ski because of the miracle I am growing but I did enjoy some relaxation, great food (see crepes below) and of course quality time with some great friends!

First things first...this is Curtis.  I will be the first to admit that he is great on the slopes, but these next two pics show a little different view!  Thank you Kevin for sharing these priceless images with me they make me laugh everytime I look at them!

Moving on. This is as close as I got to the slopes this year, I met everyone for lunch at the top of Peak 7. Just a short Gondola ride up (sitting in a metal bubble, dangling over a frozen river).

We were lucky enough to be in Breckenridge during the Ullr Festival this year. I can't really describe to you what it was like, just imagine a lot of Vikings walking along the streets. Random I know...but it happened. We were also lucky enough to catch the parade one evening.  And boy was it something.  I would compare it to Mardi Gras with snow.  Inappropriate...and awesome! (and don't worry I wasn't drinking that beer, just holding it while Chad snapped the picture).

The parade was very interesting. Each float was totally unique and equally as unstable/unsafe. We had made MULTIPLE comments about how the floats were just asking for trouble. Well boy were we right! Right in front of our faces one of the "floats" came to an abrupt stop which threw the people on the float for a whirl...well it also broke the fence that was holding the sides of the float together. This sent multiple people spilling to the ground. Imagine my moral dillema? Do I take a picture or do I not? I mean people are falling to the ground and are about to get run over by their driver who had no idea what had happened. Well, I couldn't do it. I couldn't take the picture...but I did take a picture of them attempting to put the float back together again. Please note that I said that fence fell down...and then please also note what kind of company the float was made by! One word: AWESOME.

Here is a group shot of us all at the parade...aren't we cute?

Finally, no trip to Breckenridge would be complete without a trip to the Crepe Shack. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water, and seriously don't we look so happy???

I think that about sums up the trip. Besides skiing we played an unhealthy amount of Blokus every night along with one awful game of Fact or Crap (warning: never buy that game).  I can't wait until our next trip to Breckenridge when I can actually show the boys up on the slopes again!  I'm sure they missed me up there this year!
