Sending you Warm Holiday Wishes

Every year I hope to get a small snow storm sometime in November, oh who are we kidding early December, so that I can take a picture for my Christmas Card. I'm not talking snow storms here, just a little white on the ground that we can roll around in. Well, 2010 was no different, no snow for my picture. Of course, just to really get under my skin, mother nature decided to provide a small dusting of snow on the day that I printed my cards. No turning back after you hit that fatal print button though! Oh well....maybe next year. Here's the final version, of course there are two because I can never decide! Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Skipping Rocks!

Well, I did it. I've stalked blogs for some time now thinking "that would be fun", but just never did it. I mean who really wants to read my jibber jabber besides maybe my mom (hi mom). Well, today is the day I decided to throw caution to the wind and step into the blogging world, and I'm actually quite excited about it. My hope is to share with you some of the special little moments of our family...good, bad and ugly. And maybe just maybe bring a smile to your face along the way.

You might be wondering about the name Skipping Rocks. Well, here goes the explanation. Like everything else in my life I constantly question and worry about the the perfect outfit, the perfect picture, the perfect meal (okay, maybe not the perfect meal) and picking this name was no different. Finally I decided to think about my little family and what I want my kids (yes I said kids...surprise I'm having another baby!) to remember and take with them as they grow up. I don't want them to think about their favorite video game system or remember sitting in front of the never ending run of Yo Gabba Gabba. I want them to remember the simple fun things in life. The things that often I rely on my husband to remind me to do as well. Playing outside, being kids and skipping rocks. So there you have it the name was born....Happy Birthday Skipping Rocks!
