This year we were lucky enough to go on a trip with Chad's company to Grand Cayman. I know I know...rough life. Let me tell you, Grand Cayman was nothing short of amazing! I absolutely love love loved it. We had a little bit of adventure and a little bit of relaxation, the perfect combination in my book.
On the first day I took a paddle board out for the first time. I was getting pretty cocky about it too quite frankly thinking people always made it out to be "so difficult" and it was not really difficult at all. I mean I was so "good" I decided I would be in charge of the Go Pro for the group too. And I was good...until I wasn't. I took about the most ungraceful fall into the water possible and I even lost my sunglasses in the process. For what it's worth, I still think I was pretty good :)!
Day 2 We decided to make our own little pub crawl around the city. We walked for what seemed like forever, but as long as I got a new drink every few hundred feet (and a souvenir or two) I was happy.
Day 3 we rented a private catamaran with some co-workers of Chad's. This was THE BEST DAY ever. We had a great crew, great company, perfect weather and smooth sailing. We went to Stingray City and got to swim with the stingrays, we did a little snorkeling at a coral reef, we went to Starfish Point to find a few starfish, went to rum point for a delicious Mudslide and then sailed back as we watched the sunset. I mean is that real life? It certainly is not what I am accustomed too, but I certainly could get used to it!!
On our last full day in Grand Cayman Chad and I got resort certified to go Scuba Diving. We were the only ones who signed up for that day so we basically got a private tour and got to go on two dives that day. It was so so so great. We had gone scuba diving once before about 10 years ago and I loved it and didn't think twice about the "risks". This time I was a little bit more shall we say apprehensive? It took a little encouragement from the deckhand to get me to jump off the front of the boat but I am so glad that I did! We saw some great sea life , inclusive of a huge neon green eel and an old spanish anchor. An amazing adventure to end a great trip.
